Alpenhorn Gasthaus

My friend and I  made a weekend trip to Herman, Missouri this fall to enjoy the leaves and wineries.  It was a lovely weekend.  We stayed at a bed and breakfast called Alpenhorn Gasthaus.  Below are some picutres of the small cottage I had all to myself.  It was perfectly magical little place, with a hot tub right ouside my door.

I made good use of the hot tub and one afternoon there was a rain mist that started while lounging in the tub.  It was one of those memories you don't forget becuase it seemed too perfect.  My book got slightly wet, but not enough to put it away.

This is the Das Kleine Haus ( The Little House).
Originally this was a smoke house, but it has been turned into
a cozy cottage.

Furnished with a comfy double bed and gorgeous views out both windows.

There was a tiny fridge, a tiny fireplace and a tiny writing desk.

The sink was impossibly tiny, but the shower was beautifully tiled and huge!

This minimalistic small space gave me inner peace and drove home the fact that we need very little to be happy.  I was truly impressed with the Alpenhorn Gasthaus.  If you ever make it to Herman, Missoui check  into this great B&B (the food is award winning).
